Teams registration begins early March 2014.   There will be 20-25 teams, consisting of 2 individuals each.   Team members must be 18 years of age or older.   


 

Grand prize - $1000.00

Top Fundraiser* - $500.00

* Given to the team raising the most money for Ruth's House over $500.00 





Our Amazing Race is a scavenger hunt race patterned after the TV reality show "The Amazing Race."  Teams of TWO must complete challenges that are strategically located within a 10 mile radius of Washington-Beaufort County.

Our Amazing Race - Against Domestic Violence 

Is a fund-raising event benefiting Ruth's House - a safe place for victims of domestic violence.   All money raised/donated for this event will be used to support Ruth's House, and programs aimed at eliminating domestic violence in Beaufort County and surrounding areas.

Physical Challenges

Physical activities may include:  Climbing, biking, water activities or athletic events.

  • Commit to the cause.   The more you learn about domestic violence the more you will want to help eliminate it.
  • Never underestimate the power of social media.  Thanks to Facebook and other social media sites like Twitter and LinkedIn, people are more connected than ever.   Set a fundraising goal and share it.    Update your progress towards reaching your goal.

Adventure and fun activities may include:  singing, dancing and eating

Mental Challenges

Mental activities may include:  memorization, problem solving and knowledge of the local area.

  • Email friends, family, coworkers, classmates and share you goal, asking for them to support you.
  • Go out to eat...or drink and ask local business owners to support your cause.  
  • Remind everyone of the fundraising cause and that that all monies donated are tax deductible.
